About Us

Biography - Harriet McFeely

My BIGFOOT quest started on May 29, 1953, when Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reported seeing large footprints while scaling Mount Everest.   I was only 8 at the time.  But, I BELIEVED, and I have never looked back or doubted…..

Then on October 20, 1967 the Patterson/Gimlin film was made of “Patty”.

I never doubted it,  and I still don’t…. I was “hooked” for life.

Some highlights of my growing up years were sleeping in a tent in the back yard, being outdoors, and hunting for fossils. When I was hiking one summer I found a 13 pound fossilized wooly mammoth bone, which is still one of my most prized possessions.

Becoming more involved with Bigfoot research as an adult has brought intrigue and joy to my life. I have been fortunate to join the Sasquatch Investigation of the Rockies team and I enjoy attending campouts, and the Honobia Oklahoma Bigfoot Conference each year. I was also fortunate to attend the 50th anniversary celebration of the Patterson-Gimlin Film in October, 2017 in Willow Creek, California. Myself and a group of friends hiked to the actual film site there at Bluff Creek where the bigfoot, known as “Patty” was filmed by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin in 1967!

It is my hope that having a Nebraska Bigfoot Museum and Conference will provide education and increase interest not only in the Sasquatch, but also in all of the mysteries and challenges of our natural world. I believe that, for all ages, but especially for our young people; being outdoors and learning about unknown species is very important. Being in nature will enrich their everyday lives, empower them to experience the natural environment, and channel their creative energy into scientific exploration. Please visit us in Hastings - and hopefully you will enjoy the experience of learning more about the mystery.

“The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existence. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvelous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery each day." - Albert Einstein
